| Charles
D. Yingling, PhD, is one of the world’s
leading authorities in the field of intraoperative
neurophysiological monitoring. He was the founding
Director of the Neural Monitoring Service at the
University of California, San Francisco, where
he was Professor of Neurological Surgery from
1984 - 2002. He is now Chief Scientific Officer
for Surgical Neuromonitoring Services in San Francisco,
and a Clinical Professor at Stanford School of
Medicine. Dr. Yingling has personally monitored
several thousand surgical cases, and has published
numerous journal articles and book chapters in
the field. A Past President of the American Society
of Neurophysiological Monitoring (ASNM), he was
one of six people in the United States chosen
for the Founding Board of the American Board of
Neurophysiologic Monitoring (ABNM), which since
1999 has administered the written and oral examinations
for the DABNM, the highest level Board certification
specifically evaluating competency in intraoperative
monitoring. Dr. Yingling’s contributions
to the field were recognized by the ASNM in 2002
when he was the second recipient of the President’s
Lifetime Achievement Award, and is also acknowledged
by inclusion in Who’s Who in Medicine and
Healthcare. He is well known as an engaging and
accessible mentor and lecturer, and has given
invited addresses on monitoring techniques at
numerous conferences in the US, Europe, and Asia.
Since 2002, he has conducted training programs
in different monitoring techniques at many institutions
throughout the US, including major academic medical
centers, private hospitals, and private monitoring
practices. |
